They battled in the Astral Plane, and Strange won and then trapped him there, and placed Mordo's body on display in the wax museum.
Strange searched the world over trying to find the Ancient One while simultaneously trying to prevent Mordo from capturing him. Finding and freeing the Ancient One in ancient Aztec ruins, Dr.
Strange confronted Mordo and defeated him in a mystic duel. Dormammu also employed Mordo as a pawn to try and enter Earth. He sent Mordo and his minions to attack the Ancient One.
Mordo then sent out a message to all evil mystics to help destroy Strange. He sent his minions to kill Strange in Hong Kong [9] but he escaped them.
Clea helped Dr. Strange gain the upper hand by unleashing the Mindless Ones in order to keep Dormammu busy long enough for Strange to bind Mordo and his minions in molecules.

Strange was then told to duel Mordo for their freedom. Strange, Dormammu banished his minion, but it was too late and Strange defeated the demon, forcing him swear to not invade his dimension.
When Dormammu was defeated by Eternity, Doctor Strange was able to reverse all his spells returning Mordo. Mordo escaped from his prison, teamed up with a group of mystics freed after the defeat of Zom.
They formed a group known as the Circle Sinister. Strange tracked down the Circle to their meeting place where he battled Mordo. In order to collect all the fragments together, they must be contained in a human host, a role which Mordo agreed to take.
After the exorcism is complete, and all the evil power unleashed by Zom is collected into Mordo's body, Mordo turned on Strange, striking him down.
Strange with his new found power, Baron Mordo banished the Doctor to another realm. Mordo took over the identity of Dr.
Strange when the original was powerless during a battle at the Sanctum. But Strange regained his powers from the Ancient One. He then attacked his imposter once more, and easily defeats him.
Unmasking him, Strange finds that his imposter is none other than his mortal enemy, Baron Mordo. After pursuing the 31st century wizard Sise-Neg into the past and offering him to become his disciple, Mordo went insane after witnessing Sise-Neg recreating the universe.
Baron Mordo had been at the Sanctum since he went insane. Probing his dreams, Strange found that Mordo was being terrorized by Nightmare.
However, before Strange could stop Nightmare, Mordo became unconscious, severing the link to Nightmare's realm.

When trained Stephen, Mordo took his anger on Stephen whom just learned how to use magic. In spite of his injured hands newly restored with his own sorcery through Ancient One's guidance, Strange was no match for Mordo, whom goes to killed him out of frustation.
However, that is the moment where Strange realized that his skill in magic far superior than he believed: He discovered that he can absorb other's magic and turned it against them.
Thanks to it, Stephen managed to defeat Mordo albeit accidently, enraged the disillusioned sorcerer until being stopped by Wong.
Humiliated, Mordo turns to the dark god Dormammu, offering to help him in his plan and Dormammu accepts his assistance. Although Mordo helps Dormammu succeed in entering the world, he is confronted again by Strange who once again effortlessly defeats him.
Mordo howls in rage at his inability to defeat Strange before Dormammu, probably feeling embarrassed for Mordo at this point, devours him.
Rather than being a villain, Mordo started off as a hero who made his debut in Doctor Strange as an ally of Stephen Strange.
