Lastly, an army general? An audience with two brain cells would know this marriage is going to go down hill from there. This is far from the first movie where Hollywood gives out spoilers amidst a movie.
I think they should let viewers enjoy and figure things out as scenes come. I give this movie 3 stars because of Marion's Cotillard acting and her grace.
She reminds me of old Hollywood charisma. The movie was ok, not the worst out there but certainly not the best.
Oh, and this movie does not depict WW2 correctly. I feel this movie was created to depict a world war love story and to advertise Brad Pitt.
It failed in both. Do not look for an action film here. However, it keeps you intrigued until the end; you can find clues about that from other reviewers but I will not spoil it.
You will become wrapped up in the characters and their story because the actors are so believable in their roles you'll forget who they are.
Incredibly well crafted, acted, and produced. No disappointments here. I put off watching this movie because I heard things that made me doubt that I would enjoy it.
Boy was I wrong. My husband and I loved it. Great story. Though Pitt was a bit bland, Cotillard was fabulous and overall it was one of the best movies we've seen all year.

Instead the entire movie until the end it seemed they were both detached from each other. The beginning was fantastic in introducing the spies in their roles.
The retrospective component was done very well, beautiful cinematography and costumes and French circa WWII. The end was fabulous.
I won't ruin it for you. Overall worth watching. Great plot. Something basically original in the story. It is linear, however, and with not so many twists so to speak unlike so many reviews I've read.
Meaning, if you pay attention you will see most of it coming. I personally don't think it matters much what kind of movie you like.
This one you will like. I like Brad Pitt and I think he is a better actor than some give him credit for. Marion Cotillard is basically flawless as usual.
Together they make this great movie. The end. While I like parts of this movie as a whole it is kind of a weak suspense drama.
It leaves the audience wanting a lot more. It is hard to imagine a man of Brad Pitt's Intelligence being so duped in this film. You never get that edge of your seat tension that a good thriller movie has.
It felt like a chore to get through the whole movie. There wasn't a ton of evidence to dispute who his wife says she is in the film.
You don't get to see her go behind her husbands' back or really be sneaky in much regard. So how are you supposed to really question her loyalty?
The film kind of reminded me of another dreary film I saw recently The good shepard with Matt Damon directed by robert Deniro which on paper had an excellent cast but kind of fizzled and went nowhere.
It is nothign special. There are better films out there dealing with the same subject matter such as "No Way Out" with Kevin Costner.
