I love this movie, not for everyone but it fits my sense of humor so 5 stars from me. One of those classic chessy movies that I always watched on cable in the 90s.
Saw it again today and its still a fun film. Blu ray wise, its very bare bones. No commentary, special features, digital code or regular dvd.
Plus amazon is very arrogant about the fact that dvds are collectables, so expect the slipcover to be damaged.
Transfer is likely from the dvd source just upscaled. No restoring. Still lots of grain and dirt but a definite improvement over a standard dvd.
Something I dont mind because it matches the look of the period without looking overly cleaned up and digital.

The story has many twists and turns with lots of big comedy moments. If you're going in expecting a good heist movie or something fairly tasteful, just stop right there and go away.
This is a VERY slapstick orientated film. There's lot of physical humour and some jokes that comes out of the left field.
Some of these more out of the blue jokes might offend some of the modern softer generation but me, I found them absolutely hilarious. It's clear the likes of MacDowell and Willis are having a blast with the role.
In fact, it's probably one of the last Bruce Willis films where he actually showed some form of emotion. The actually bluray was released through Signal One Entertainment.
It's a pretty good looking transfer. There's a lot of colour and plenty of clarity. It's not like you need to see a lot of detail in movies like this but it's there and looks really nice.

It has plenty of memorable one liners, funny jokes and scenes that will stick with you for the rest of your life. If you like your films completely outlandish and over the top, this might be one for you.
Report abuse. I have never understood why this movie did so badly or why so many hate it, although I understand it was marketed as another Die Hard type of adventure when it was originally released.
It's zany and off the wall and gloriously over the top and I love it. Everyone looks like they're having a blast, which I guess shows the calibre of the acting if nothing else because it was apparently a very difficult shoot.
If you're looking for realism, you won't find it here, but if you're in the mood for daft fun or just something to cheer you up, this is the movie for you.
There are one or two one-liners that are a bit dodgy sounding to modern audiences, but if you can overlook those, you're in for a hoot.

A little daft but a hell of a lot of fun bruce willis himself came up with the idea it has no real strong story but is just a ridiculous piece of fun over the top almost annoying villains sandra bernhardt and Richard e grant and plenty of laughs from willis and his sidekick Danny aiello who is brilliant.
